Intertax Accounting & Tax Services was founded by John McLaughlin, a former IRS Revenue Agent with several years experience auditing individuals, sole proprietorships, corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies in California's silicon valley.

During his tenure at the IRS, Mr. McLaughlin worked with Enrolled Agents, CPA's, and tax attorneys, as well as with IRS District Council and IRS Chief Council in Washington, DC.  While gaining a reputation as knowledgable and tenacious, he was surprised to learn that the quality of tax representation was often very low, regardless of the representative's professional status.  He decided to always be a strong advocate for his clients in order to acheive a higher level of professionalism .

Receiving his accounting degree with honors at Arizona State University, and passing the IRS Special Enrollment exam, Mr. McLaughlin is now an Enrolled Agent, licensed to practice before the IRS and represent clients under audit, collection actions, or in IRS appeals.  His experience at the Internal Revenue Service is that of an "insider," knowledgable about IRS policies, procedures, and negotiation tactics.  In addition to his regular duties as a Revenue Agent, he also served in Washington, DC on the team implementing the legislatively mandated reorganization of the IRS.  Experience in this area is very useful in helping clients deal with the "new" IRS.
